Finally! 2020 is over!
We are coming to the end of an extraordinarily bad year!
If 2020 was a Star Wars movie, it would probably be the The Last Jedi.
If 2020 was a person, it would be Carol Baskin (and yes, we can’t believe Tiger King was released just this year either).
If 2020 was a politician, it would be Donald Trump. You get the idea.
We have seen wildfires, collapsing economies, job losses and of course a worldwide pandemic putting a halt to all the things we love. No travelling. No meeting up with friends and family and worst of all, no balik kampung and open houses.
Now that 2021 is just around the corner, we can finally celebrate the end of a miserable year and look forward to, hopefully, a year which will bring a little more positivity into all our lives.
Not that we think everything will get better the moment the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, but one can hope for a year which has a bit of a bright spark all the same.
But how to celebrate? That is the big question. We can’t meet family and friends like we normally would so we have to get a little creative.
That doesn’t mean you can’t have fun though. Here are a few things we think you should consider doing to ring in the New Year.
1) Party at home
Just because you can’t party with your friends doesn’t mean you can’t party at home!
Get your favourite costumes, party hats and balloons out. Decorate your living space and switch on your favourite playlist to make your own house into the ultimate party den. Ring up a few of your mates and get them to do the same and join your virtual party.
Think up a couple of fun online games and get partying safely. Nice!
2) Join a live online entertainment show
Support lokal! It’s important nowadays to support smaller businesses and artists to make sure that we all survive through these tough times.
What better way to support lokal than joining a Malaysian based entertainment show, featuring local talent and supported by local businesses?
The F* 2020 Show on 30th December 2020 features freebies, food and fun.
The ticket entitles you to an evening of live entertainment hosted and performed by Gajen Nad, including quizzes, a stand-up show and virtual games.
Viewers will get to enjoy a chance to win a ton of prizes worth over RM 3000 including a handphone, a fine dining voucher and even a hotel staycation.
You also have the option of having delicious food delivered to you by PichaEats, a start-up dedicated to serving you delicious food while also serving the needs of the underprivileged.
So, to sum it up, a ticket gets you a chance to win prizes, a live show, quizzes and even food. Seems to be a bit of a no-brainer to me!

3) Cook yourself some delicious food
2020 has turned many of us into Master Chefs.
Our chances of eating out at our favourite Makcik’s Nasi Lemak stall have been severely limited and so we have all had to do the next best thing: learn how to make delicious food at home.
Why not celebrate your new found skill by cooking up a storm at home? As it’s the new year, keep aside the salad bowl for the night and indulge yourself in your favourite meal.
There is no bigger pleasure than taking the first bite from a meal fully prepared using your own hands and finding out that it’s scrumptious. It would be even better to have a lovely home cooked meal while ringing in the New Year!
Those are just 3 ideas you could use to celebrate the arrival of 2021.
We may not have had a wonderful 2020 but we could at least celebrate the end of it in style.
